The cost of launching a new brand has risen exponentially in the past half century, as have the risks of failure.

In the CPG sector, research indicates that launching a supermarket product costs between $30m to $50m, with 70% of new entrants likely to fail. And across the board, TNS Magasin estimates that nearly nine in 10 new products fail.
